A great dove hunt with Nooner Ranch in Hondo, First day of South Zone, all White Wing Dove, The birds were flying low in unbelieveable numbers. Everyone got a limit. The staff at the Nooner Ranch was very helpful, friendly, efficient, and professional. We will return next year. After the hunt, we ate a wonderful steak dinner at the Herman's Sons Steak House in Hondo. Cabela's Slates Captains WeekendGet ready for another exciting and informative weekend at Cabela’s in Buda, Texas. Saturday, Jan 26 & Sunday, Jan. 27, Texas’s 7th largest tourist attraction has slated another popular Captain’s Weekend. Houston Boat Show-Jan 4-13, Reliant Center TSJ Wins Best Magazine AwardTexas Sporting Journal won the best outdoors magazine in Texas recently at the Texas Outdoor Writers Association conference held in McAllen,March 8-10,2007. According to the judges, Texas Sporting Journal has grown into one of the best magazines of its kind in the state. Quality layout and design, excellent photography, intriguing stories and good standing columns makes this publication a winner. It's excellent! Also, according to the judges, this however, was a very tough category to judge. Each of the entries in this magazine division with more than 25,000 circulation was a very tough category to judge. Each of the entries met the criteria of displaying quality design, layout, photography, writing and sense of purpose. The Coastal Conservation Association's "TIDE" magazine certainly fit that category and came in a very close second, according to the judges. |
