TSJ Series: Kimber Pro CDP II

Story by Jameson Parker

The original M1911 pistol, as first ordered by the military, is still excellent, and you could make an argument that the only significant improvements in the last century have been better sights (the originals were appalling), better trigger (ditto) and better accuracy. Having said that, I would be the first to admit that countless civilian gunsmiths and companies have done much to make the 1911 more user-friendly. Some have also made them aesthetically as beautiful as any handgun can be.

Which brings me to the Kimber Pro CDP II. The “CDP” stands for Custom Defense Package and it’s hard to argue with that. There are all kinds of bells and whistles that can be added to the classic 1911, but a true defensive weapon should concentrate on function. The Kimber Pro CDP II is an awesomely functional defense weapon that just happens to be beautiful.
