It's Always Striper Time on Lake Buchanan

Lake Buchanan Striped bass fishing guide shows off this 6 lb striper, one caught by the TSJ staff in early July. A few minutes earlier, he struts so close I think about grabbing him by the neck and probably could.

Love Affair With A River

While the average sea-run fish is over 9 pounds, trout of 20 to 25 pounds are taken each season on the Gallegos. Photo by Doug Larsen It was early January and the sun that sets so late that time of year was just beginning to ignite the western sky in a display of reds and golds so intense that the endless, arid grasslands of the Estancia Bella Vista were themselves bathed in a deep honey-colored swathe, at once mystical and otherworldly.
